Lettie Moses Carr was born in Washington, D.C. and was born again as a pre-teen. She graduated from T.C. Williams High School, Alexandria, Virginia, Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, and the University of Michigan Law School with a Juris Doctorate. She completed ministerial training at the Church of the Great Commission Ministers’ Institute, Camp Springs, Maryland where she served as the Elder over Evangelism, and the Evangelical Training Association Accredited Church of the Redeemed Bible Institute, which she co-founded and served as its first President.
Rev. Carr walked away from her law firm's partnership in response to the call of God to serve as the Administrative Chaplain of the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women, Jessup, Maryland where she ministered full-time for nearly 22 years. Her innovative ministry led to a full-fledged church developed inside of the prison walls with banner, dance, drama, mime, music and youth ministries which were highly celebrated by many who visited the worship services. One common response from prison volunteers was, "I came to minister to the ladies and instead received ministry from them." While there she touched thousands of lives and led many women to receive Christ and understand their purpose in the Kingdom. Many of those women have gone on to become ministers in their own right.
God continues to use Rev. Carr. She now serves on the staff of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Landover, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor John K. Jenkins, Sr. as the Director of Ministry and Administrative Support Services, as an Associate Pastor and as the Contract Administrator. She is also a part of the Prison Outreach and Women’s Ministries. In addition, God has called her to reach the lost and encourage the saints of God throughout the world through her daily 3:16 pm Prayerline and the WhosoeverBelieves.org social media platform. She has experienced and been a conduit of the miraculous grace of God manifesting in healings and deliverance.
